Christine Ponce-Garcia

Christine is the Sustainability Head of Nestle Philippines Inc. In this role, she is a key driver of the strategic execution of the company’s Net Zero 2050 Roadmap and journey to regeneration. This includes ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, plastic reduction, water usage, and waste generation. She is one of the prime movers of the company’s groundbreaking plastic neutrality program, positioning Nestle Philippines as the first FMCG to become plastic neutral. The program not only reduced plastic waste in our country’s landfills and oceans but also served as benchmark for the F&B industry. Today, plastic neutrality is one of the provisions of the Extended Producer’s Responsibility (EPR) law. Christine sits as the Chairperson of the Environment and Water Committee of European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) and Taskforce Lead of the Sustainability Steering Committee of Nestle Philippines. Prior to this role, Christine has held leadership positions in Sales, Distribution and Channel Development. She has extensive experience in general trade, modern trade, and out-of- home business. She was awarded as Sustainability Hero of Zone Africa, Oceania, and Asia in 2021, Baguio’s Outstanding Women Leader in 2016 and Nestle’s Woman Mover in 2015. She is the founder of WOMENtor, a mentoring program for young women and a co-founder of Gandang Pilipina, a social media campaign for body positivity. Christine holds a Masters in Arts degree in Women and Development from University of the Philippines and a B.S. in Applied Economics degree from De La Salle University. She is a co-author of Philippine Financial and Inter-Industry Pride (PFIP) Playbook for LGBT+ Inclusive Workplaces in the Philippines, 2023.
