Lando has been leading the Climate Finance Team of the secretariat of the United Nations Climate Change Convention based in Bonn, Germany, for the last 16 years. He has 32 years of experience in national and international climate policy development, managing climate-related projects and the intergovernmental process on climate finance. He has been with the UN Climate Change Secretariat for 23 years leading the work on capacity building, Non-Annex I national communications and climate finance. Before joining the secretariat, Lando served as a Technical Adviser to the Philippine delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Convention from 1992–1999 and actively negotiated issues related to technology transfer, national communications, and financial mechanism. He was involved in policy and project development on energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the Philippines.
